Part of the general purpose frigates of the Dutch Kortenaer-class and laid down on 28 April1977 at the shipyard De Koninklijke Schelde Groep BV at Flushing as the Dutch Hr.Ms. Piet Hein (F811), launched on 3 June 1978, commissioned on 14 April 1981 and finally sold to the United Arab Emirates in 1998 where she was commissioned as the Al Emirat but recently rebuild at the ADM Shipyards at Abu Dhabi as a super luxury Giga yacht Swift 141 (launched in 2012).
