Portuguese corvette Baptista de Andrade (F486) 1973-

She is part of the Baptista de Andrad-class with as sister ships Joao Roby, Afonso Cerqueira and Oliveira e Carmo. Launched in March 1973 at the yard of Emorese Nacional Bazan (nowadays Navantia), Spain, and commissioned in November a year later is she still in service. With a displacement of 1,252 (standard)-1,401 (full load) tons and as dimensions 81 x 10,3 x 3,3 metres. The 2 OEW Pielstick diesel engines supplies 10,560 hp allowing a speed of maximum 24 knots and with a speed of 18 knots a range of 5,000 nautical miles. Her crew numbers 113 men. The armament consists of 1-10cm gun, 2x1-4cm Bofors guns and 2x3-32,4cm torpedo tubes.
