England selling captured Russian merchant ships according to the Dutch newspaper De Noord-Brabanter dated 21 September 1854

An item dated London 17 September reported that the captured Russian ship Aland was sold for 700 pound sterling just a four pound and 7 shilling each ton and her cargo salt for another 784 pound sterling. At Hull were two Russian merchant ships each for 1,700 pound sterling sold.(1)
