An item reported that in Amsterdam at that moment eight Dutch merchant ships with a total gross tonnage of 54,682 tons were laid up. This number was decreased with two ships and 4,026 gross tonnage compared with the situation a month earlier. The ships belonged to the Hollandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij (two ships-3,237 tons), Stoomvaart Maatschappij Zeeland (3 ships-24,609 tons), Koninklijke Hollandsche Lloyds (2 ships-18,166 tons) and the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij 91 ship-8,760 tons).
