British military prisoners misbehaved on board of transport returning to Southampton according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Nieuwsbode dated 22 August 1903

An item reported that on board of a British transport which recently arrived at Southampton returning from Cape Town a serious conflict found place. Military prisoners abused their freedom by stealing from the passengers. When they were ordered to return to their cells they refused using their knives. It take three hours to get them in their cells and seven wounded soldiers.
