Italian built corvettes arrived in Indonesia according to the Dutch newspaper Friese Koerier dated Saturday 3 May 1958

An item reported that a day earlier the two in Italy built Indonesian corvettes Patim Ura and Hasanudin arrived at Tandjong Priok.(1) The Indonesian navy consisted on that moment of a destroyer and some smaller units.

1. The escort sloops Pattimura and Hasanudin were both built by the shipyard Ansaldo Yard at Leghorn, Italy with a standard displacement of 950 tons and as dimensions 246 (between perpendiculars)-270½ (over all0 x 34 x 9 feet. With an armament of 2-3” anti aircraft guns and 1x2-3cm anti aircraft guns. Pattimura laid down on 8 January 1956, launched on 1 July and completed on 28 January 1958. The Hasanudin was laid down on 8 January 1956, launched on 24 March 1957 and completed 8 March 1958.
