An item dated Berlin 12 May reported that the Greek navy which had to support the retreating British forces lost as a result of German air attacks a battleship, 3 destroyers and 7 torpedo boats. The whole Greek navy consisted of 2 battleships, 10 destroyers and 13 torpedo boats.(1)
Note
1. One survivor of the war was the armoured cruiser Georgios Averof. In fact two battleships were lost as result of the German air attacks namely the Kilkis and the Lemnos.
