Founding of a Polish navy according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 24 September 1919

An item reported that the Polish cabinet approved the organisation of the Polish navy after the final ratification of the Peace Treaty. The fleet was to consist of four cruisers and 150 officers and 3.500 men. Admiral [K.] Porembski was appointed as head of the navy department. He served in the past in the Soviet navy and was first officer on board of the Russian cruiser Novik in the war between Russian and Japan.
