Military students of South East Asian countries welcome at Japanese military academies according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuwsblad voor Sumatra dated 14 November 1957

An item reported that the Japanese council for defence was preparing a law making it possible for inhabitants of South East Asian countries to study at the military academy and the navy and air force academies in Japan. The intention was to sent the proposal in December to the Diet (Japanese parliament). According to rumours were students from Indonesia and Thailand the first to be accepted.
