New Austrian commander-in-chief of the navy according to the Dutch newspaper Utrechtsche provinciale en stads-courant dated 15 August 1851

An item dated Vienna 11 August reported that Count Wimpfen (1) who instead of V. Dahlerup (2) was promoted to the commander-in-chief of the navy departed towards Trieste. With V. Dahlerup left the most Danish officers the Austrian navy returning to Denmark.

1. Franz Emil Lorenz Heeremann Graf von Wimpffen (2 April 1797 Prague, Bohemia-26 November 1870 Görz)), commander-in-chief of the navy between 1851 and September 1854. He was replaced by Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian (6 July 1832-19 June 1867), the later Mexican emperor Maximilian I.
2. Freiherr Hans Birch von Dahlerup (25 August 1790 Hillerød, Denmark-26 September 1872 Copenhagen, Denmark) was appointed in February 1849 building up a strong fleet and dismissed in August 1851.
