Cutter dredger Amunul-Bahr built for Pakistan by Dutch shipyard Verschure&Co. at Amsterdam according to the Dutch newspaper De waarheid dated 26 June 1953

An item dated Amsterdam 26 June reported that yesterday afternoon the large cutter dredger Aminul-Bahr departed from the shipyard of Verschure en Co. destined for Pakistan using her own engines.(1) She was to be used by the Pakistan government for dredging ports and rivers. Fitted out with three cutter ladders and as dimensions almost 75 x more as 14 metres and able to dredge to a depth of 7,32 metres. In the Merwehaven at Rotterdam was the loading started of seven smaller partly disassembled cutter dredgers, also built by Verschure en Co. for Pakistan.(2)

1. The newspaper Algemeen Indisch dagblad dated 6 January reported the launching of a cutter dredger destined for Pakistan. She was baptized by the charge daffaire for Pakistan at The Hague Mrs. Lalshah Bokhari.
2. Het nieuwsblad voor Sumatra dated 30 June called her Amunul Bahr and that she was bound for Karachi. The order for her building was supplied by the director-general if Supply and Development at Karachi to the Industriële Handelscombinatie Holland at The Hague in which Verschure en Co. was involved. Each ladder had 2 cutting heads and her speed was 8 knots. The ms Birkenfels of the German shipping company Hansa from Bremen would transport the seven smaller 12 cutter dredgers. The total order included 18 cutter dredgers.
