Germany commissioning captured French gunboats according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated 9 December 1870
An item dated Versailles the 6th reported that the German captured four French gunboats at Orleans. The edition dated the 18th reported that four German navy officers with sailors left Wilhemshaven towards Orleans to man the captured gunboats and immediately taken these in service on the Loire or elsewhere.
