Engine tests well executed by new Dutch colonial steamer Barito according to the Dutch magazine Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1894-1895 no. 4

An item reported that the berthed trial on 23 January with the triple compound engine and boiler of the Dutch paddle steam ship Barito was successful. She was built at the shipyard de Maatschappij de Maas at Surabaya for the Government navy. According to the contract was her engine to supply 400 ihp with 34 rpms, during the test was a average horsepower of 403 ihp with 29,4 rpms developed.(1)
