An item referred to the British department of foreign affairs which a day earlier announced that England sold 2-715 ton submarines of the S-class. The first unit was to hand over next Thursday morning. These submarines were the first Israel ever possessed. Her main opponent in the Middle East namely Egypt possessed at least six Russian manufactured submarines.(1)
