An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau dated 20 November 1934 which reported that for Mexican account Spanish shipyards were building 5 armed transports of 1.300 and 1.600 ton and 10-150 ton coast guard vessels. Four transports were already launched. Their speed was 19-20 miles and the armament consisted of 2/3-10,2cm guns. Two transports measuring 1.600 ton were armed with 2-10.2cm guns and able to transport 500 men and 30 horses. The other transports measured 1.300 ton armed with 3-102cm guns but just able to transport 250 men. The coast guard vessels were fitted out with 2-1.500 hp M.A.N. diesel engines allowing a speed of 25 miles. The armament consisted of 2 machineguns.
