Ambitious Spanish shipbuilding program according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1915-1916 no. 2

An item reported that the Spanish Naval Act included the building of 3-21.000 ton battleships (costs 145.600.000 mark), 2-3.000 ton scouts (costs 14.400.000 mark), 6-700 tons destroyers (costs 16.000.000 mark) and 8-450 ton submarines (costs 19.200.000 mark). For fitting out and expanding of the shipyards was estimated Cadiz (3.100.000 mark), Ferrol (8.100.000 mark) and Cartagena (19.500.000 mark). Totally costs 225.900.000 mark. Sante Petri south off Cadiz was to become an auxiliary fleet base included building of dry dock capable for docking 30.000 ton ships and a slip for torpedo boats and submarines together with fuel stocks costing another 42.600.000 mark. The figures were in marks which was a German valuta.
