An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau dated 1925 No. 16 which reported that the Cuban Republic intended to create her own navy. The program included 1-4.500/5.000 ton cruiser, 2-2.500 ton cruisers, 8-900 ton gunboats, 6 floating planes and the founding of workshops and bases. The needed personnel was to be gradually trained. The estimated costs of this program to be executed in a period of 10 years were 8.950.000 pesos.
