An item reported that the American Lewis Nixon (1) invented a submarine which outclassed all the existing submarines. While being submerged she was had an acoustic range which made it possible to discover noises and object on a distance far larger as was possible at that moment. For instance a torpedo boat or another vessel was already notice still two miles distant. She was to be fitted out with new devices for laying or removing torpedoes. (2) Her speed was to be 21 miles.
