Argentinean submarines built in Italy according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1933 no. 2

An item referred to the magazine Revue Maritime dated November 1932 reporting that the Argentinean submarine Santiago del Estero was launched as the third submarine built by an Italian shipyard.(1) With a displacement of 930 (surfaced)-1.150 (submerged) tons was her speed 9 (surfaced)-18 (submerged) knots and a range of 9.000 nautical miles. She was fitted out with 2 x 1.500 hp engines and 2 x 650 hp electro engines. The armament consisted of 1-10cm gun,4x2-53,3cm torpedo tubes and she could carry with her 16 torpedoes. Diving time 45 seconds and diving depth 114 metres.

1. The Santa Fe-class consisted of the Santa Fe (S1), Santiago del Estero (S2) and Salta (S3), all three laid down at Tosi, Taranto, Italy in 1928, the first launched on 27 July 1931, the second one on 28 March 1932 and the third one of 17 January 1932. The Santiago del Estero stricken in April 1959.
