British petrol carrier Isla commissioned according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1908-1909 no. 3

An item reported that the British steamship Isla was converted on the Sheerness dockyard into a gasoline transport for submarines and was added at Portsmouth to the submarine flotilla.(1)

1. Acquired on 6 March 1907 was she used as petrol carrier until she was sold on 9 September 1921.
