French flying boats base near Saigon founded according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1932 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine Aero Digest dated January 1932 reporting that France founded a new base for flying boats near Saigon. In this manner could she protect the French trade shipping towards the Chinese Sea and the routes between the Mediterranean and China and Japan. The first flyboats were in the meantime transported. The base was also to include submarine docks, fuel storage tanks, an arsenal and crew accommodation.
