Brazilian shipbuilding program according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1932 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine N.&M. Rec. dated 22 June reporting that Brazil intended to modernize her navy with a available budget of 10.000.000 pound sterling. The major part of this budget would probably be spent in England where the Brazilian warships mainly were built. At that moment it was unknown if Brazil intended to modernize her old battleships and cruisers of to built new and smaller ships but with more combat value.
