An item reported the launching on 14 October at the shipyard Holwaldt-Werken at Kiel, Germany of the depot ship Vulkan which was to serve as salvage and docking ship for submarines. Lift capacity of 500 tons and fitted out with devices to supply electricity to the submarines.
