American submarine USS Tarantula performed well during trial according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1907-1908 no. 8

An item reported that the American submarine USS Tarantula successfully performed her official trial for the delivery.(1) Instead of the contracted minimum speed of 8.75 miles achieved she in a rough sea and a stiff breeze 9,4 miles.

1. Launched at the Fore River Shipbuilding, Quincy, Massachusetts on 30 March 1907, commissioned on 3 December of the same year, renamed on 17 November 1911 B-3, decommissioned on 25 July 1921 at Cavite, Philippines was she a year later sunk when used as a target.
