Not allowing to view films working penalty within French navy according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 7

An item reported that since some time on board of the battleships Gaulois (1) in the spare tome films were showed and which was very appreciated by the men. Getting no permission to go the film achieved more results than other light penalties given for infringements.

1. Battleship of the Charlemagne-class Laid down in January 1896 at Brest, launched on 8 October of the same year, completed in December 1899 and sunk on 27 December 1916 by the German submarine UB 47 eighty miles from Milos Island (Cyclades).
