American steamship Florence H lost after an explosion according to the Dutch newspaper De tribune dated 23 April 1916

An item reported the loss of the American steamship Florence H on the 17th due to an explosion in the cargo hold while she was lying anchored in a French harbour. Of her crew of 75 men were 35 men saved. An American destroyer which was present at the scene helped with the salvage of the crew. Another newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad of the same dated confirmed this item.
