American steamship Petrolite being shot according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 8 December 1915

An item dated Washington 8th reported that the American steamship Petrolite of the Standard Oil Company was shot probably by an Austrian submarine between Kreta and Tripoli wounding one sailor.
