British steamship Sussex lost with large amount of mail bags on board according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederandsch-Indië dated 1 April 1916

An item reported that the British Postmaster General announced that with the loss of the British steamship Sussex more as 1.000 bags of mail destined for Egypt, India, Australia and the Far East went down with her. She was torpedoed by a German submarine.
