French frigates fitted out and Batavian warships disarmed at Flushing according to the Dutch newspaper Groninger courant dated 30 October 1801

An item dated Flushing the 22nd reported that the French 44-gun frigates le Carmagnole (1), la Poursuivante (2) and l’Incorruptible (3) which berthed since a long time in the harbour were now fitted out and destined for Dunkirk. The Agent der Marine (representative for the navy) ordered that the Batavian division consisting of the 64 gun ship of the line Pluto (4) and a large number of gunboats were to be dismantled. The newspaper Bataafsche Leeuwarder Courant dated the 29th confirmed this news item.

2. On stocks 1794, launched 1806 and pout of service 1806.
3. Built in 1794 and out of service in 1814.
4. She was a 3rd rate ship of the line built by P. Schuit jr. at Flushing in 1798, sent in 1803 to the Dutch East Indies and finally burnt by own crew in 1807. Dimensions (Amsterdam foot) 180 x 48 x 21½.
