Large Batavian-French naval force gathered at Flushing, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Groninger courant dated 6 March 1801

An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands 25 February reported that a strong naval force there since time gathered was strengthened by another two French frigates coming from Dunkirk, France. Two days earlier arrived at Veere, Netherlands the small war brig ‘t Haasje (1) returning from England. She transported the Portuguese commodore d’Araujo with some British prisoners of war back to England.
