An item dated Washington the 23rd reported that Mr. Brent who was the former chairman of the went to the Pacific coast to introduce the immediate building of wood-built ships necessary for transporting stores to the Allies. The bankers at New York were very enthusiastic about his plan. They believed that once his plan was executed obligations on a huge scale were issued of which the profits were used for the Allies allowing them to loan money with a lower interest.
