First trials of Dutch police vessel Bantam according to the Dutch newspaper The newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 28 October 1938

An item reported that the same morning in the presence of a large number of authorities the first trial of the Bantam found place. She was the first of a range of six fast police vessels to be built by the Droogdok Mij. Tg. Priok. After the successful trial including exercising with the 2-3,7cm guns was she transferred to mr. Milders temporarily head of the Dienst van Scheepvaart.
