American reinforced concrete steamship Faith launched according to the Dutch newspaper the De Grondwet dated 19 March 1918
An
item dated Redwood City, California the 15th reported the launching
on the 14th of the steamship Faith built of reinforced concrete by the San
Francisco Shipbuilding Company. Displacement 5.000 tons and as dimensions 336’ x 44’6” x 30’. The ship was such a
success that the builders announced to start immediately with the building of
54 similar ships although larger. They expected to built all ships within 18
months.
