An item reported that the first cargo of American petroleum of about 4.986 ton arrived at Rotterdam with the Dutch steam tanker Rotterdam coming from New York.(1) Another Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated the 14th conformed this tiding reported that she arrived that same morning.

1. Callsign PRMS. Launched in June 1895 at the shipyard of Palmers&Co.Ltd, Newcastle, England with yard number 690 for account of N.V. American Petroleum Company of Rotterdam, the predecessor of ESSO. With a gross register tonnage of 4.405 tons, a net tonnage of 3.687 tons, a deadweight of 6.300 tons were the dimensions 109,73-111,63 x 14,45 and a hold of 8,92 metres. The 3 cylinder triple expansion steam engine supplied 1.200 ihp allowing a speed of 10,5 knots. In 1924 sold to De Gregori&Scotto, Genoa, Italy and renamed Olandese. Finally broken up at Genoa in 1932.
