Austrian, Greek and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 6 March 1826

Trieste, 20 February. According to tidings from Corfu dated the 9th was Ibrahim Pasha the 3rd at Patras and must sight some days earlier the burning by Miaulis of a Turkish frigate in that harbour.

21 February. A vessel which left Constantinople 22 February reported that colonel Accurti, commanding officer of the Austrian division in the Archipelago, arrived with the brig Montecuculi (1) at Constantinople, departed 6 days later towards the Archipelago. At Constantinople were 8 warships fitted out, destined for the Archipelago. Vessels arriving from Alexandria reported the meeting with a French vessel at sea, her deck covered with blood, being at the mercy of the waves.

1. The 16-gun brig Montecuccoli, building started at Venice 1809, taken over by Austria 25 April 1814 still on stocks, launched 22 March 1817 and completed 1817. Rebuilt in 1830-1831 and 1836, hulk 1868, stricken and sold 1872.
