The
correspondent at St. Petersburg wrote to his newspaper Matin that a well
informed source said that two days earlier 1,600 sailors left Sebastopol and others
Kronstadt without being assigned to ships. These sailors seemed to be destined
to go on board of mysterious ships on an unknown sea. All ready since a long
time were there rumours that Russia bought the Chilean fleet which wasn’t
correct, although since then these rumours have not been heard again so there
is a possibility that it was the truth. The mysterious ships could be
Argentinean or Chilean, nothing is known about it although the correspondent
believed that the sailors left to be trained.
