Naval operations of the Dutch East Company off Djambi according to the Generale Missive dated 10 January 1741

Letters from Djambi dated 28 February and 14 March arrived at Batavia with the Suikermaler and a inland vessel. The Kakatoe departed 20 August towards Djambi with a cargo valued fl. 7955. She was grounded 15 November off Djambi. When the master Jan Muller sailed up the river with a small prow he was deadly wounded by a native. The Kakatoe get some days later loose. She arrived back at Batavia 7 December with a letter dated 24 November and a cargo valued fl. 20.523 including 24 pikol black pepper, 459 7/8 reaal gold, 80.000 (‘bind’-) canes, 18000 surang canes and 41½ pikol wax.
