The British, French and Greek navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 5 May 1828

The Beobachter published several letters coming from Zante and dating between 31 March and 5 April. According to these letters were some British and French warships cruising in the waters between Modon, Navarino and Koron, probably to cut off all victuals supply lines of Ibrahim, who, as believed just had victuals for a short time and so would be forced to leave Morea. An Egyptian brig however succeeded in entering Modon 23 March, just like the 27th 2 Egyptian goelettes and a Turkish ship all loaded with victuals. The two goelettes were two days earlier scared off by a French frigate. The ports were more and more blockaded, made possible when 4 Greek warships joined the British and the French. The combined naval force consisted of 1 British ship of the line, 1 French frigate, 1 British corvette, 2 British and 2 Greek brigs and 1 British and 2 Greek goelettes.
