The
French Department respond rejecting to the complaints made in some letters
coming from Mexico
dealing with the insufficient strength of the French squadron which blockaded
the numerous ports of that country. The squadron consisted all ready of 2-60
gun frigates, 4 brigs of 18 and 20 guns and 4-10 gun brigs and was to be
reinforced within short time by the 82-gun ship of line Triton coming from
Toulon.
