The American, Egyptian, Greek and Turkish navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 28 October 1825

Constantinople, 25 September. According to Greek letters which hardly can be believed was the Egyptian-Turkish fleet off Candia beaten.
Trieste, 15 October. A vessel which arrived 12 October reported that her crew heard gunfire off Napoli-di-Romania although it was expected that this were salute shots for the arriving American squadron.
