The Dutch and Greek navies according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 25 January 1827

London, 19 January. Ships tidings in the newspaper Courier mentioned the passing of Portsmouth 18 January by the Dutch ship of the line Zeeuw (1) towards Batavia. At Deal was the Dutch brig Zwaluw (2) which arrived the 17th coming from Curacao and destined for Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands.

Frankfurt, 19 January. From Corfu arrived tidings that Mr. Finlay accompanied by two engineers would join captain Hastings. According to the rumours captured Hastings with his steamship Karteria already a Turkish schooner. Colonel Gordon bought at Zante an armed brig and returned with her to Greece.

1. The Zeeuw was armed en flute and used as a troop transport with reinforcements needed for the war at Java. Ship of the line 1st class, on stocks by C. Soetermeer at the naval yard at Flushing, Netherlands 24 August 1819 and launched 16 August 1825, dimensions 57,7 (between perpendiculars) x 14,9 x 6,93m, draught for 6,46 and aft 7,12m, displacement 3.245 tons, armed with 84 guns and a crew of 700 men. 2. On stocks by P. Glavimans at naval yard at Rotterdam June 1816, launched 13 September 1817, coppered 1817, 500 tons displacement, dimensions 31,50 x 9,50 x 4,50m, 90-102 men, commissioned by royal order dated 16 October 1818 no. 48, not mentioned on ship list dated 1 October 1837.
