Frankfurt, 16 October. Tidings from Alexandria dated 20 August reported that the fitting out of a new Egyptian expedition towards Morea wasn’t really proceeding and wouldn’t be ready within a short time. Nothing was said of the arrival of the Captain Pasha in the harbour of Alexandria as claimed by Italian newspapers. The new expedition which was to be fitted out at Constantinople to reinforce the Captain Pasha was again postponed, lacking enough sailors.
