The Greek and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 16 December 1824

Augsburg, 10 December. The newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung published a tiding dated Constantinople according to which from Smyrna was reported 4 November that Ibrahim pasha replaced the Captain Pasha as commanding officer and that he was waiting for a favourable wind at Mitylene to depart towards Boudroun. When the wind turned he departed followed by a Greek division. One of the Turkish corvettes stranded near Chismé and set into fire by the Turkish troops on board which fled to the land. A Greek division was ordered to blockade Patras, Morea during the winter.
