Owned by the South Koran government and operated by the Korea Polar Research Institute, South Korea. Laid down by Hanjin Heavy Industries, Yengdo shipyard, Busan, South Korea in May 2008, launched on 11 June 2009 and completed in September 2009. South Korea-flagged, homeport Incheon, South Korea, IMO 9490935, MMSI 44619000 and call sign DSQL7.

Gross tonnage 7.487-7.507 ton, deadweight 2.901-3.070 ton and as dimension s 109,5 x 19,0 x 9,9 metres or 359.3 x 62.4 x 32.6 feet. Machinery consists of 2-5.000kW diesels. Speed 3 (in 1/3’3” meter thick ice)-12 (service)-16 (maximum) knots. Range 20.000 nautical miles. Crew numbers 25 men with accommodation for 60 passengers.
