In the winter were near the village Fundenia at the river Ardisch by the Russian pontoons built with the intention to bring these via the same river towards the Donay and via the river Bota towards the village Kalarsach to cross the Danube at Silistria. Despite the fact the Turkish with the remains of their fleet controlled the Danube above Silistria the Russian succeeded between 27 and 31 March while without any losses and even capturing a Turkish vessel. The vessel was immediately taken in service to guard the entrance to the Bota.
