British squadron visiting Toulon, France according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 9 July 1838

Tidings from Toulon reported the feasts to honour the officers of the British squadron commanded by admiral Stopford and of the good relations between the British and French officers. However the people feared for confrontations between the sailors of both navies and large detachments were patrolling in the harbour to prevent such. The British squadron was to depart 9 July and the first British fleet at Toulon since 1793.
