Dutch tug Brazilië performed well during her trial according to the Dutch newspaper Het vrije volk dated 21 January 1953

An item reported that on last Tuesdat the new harbour tug Brazilië of the Nederlandse Stoomsleepdienst v/h P. Smit Jr. performed well during a trial on the river Maas. She was a sister ship of the America commissioned in September 1952. On short notice was the Chili to be launched. Immediately after the launching of the Brazilië was the building of a fourth tug by N.V. Scheepswerven v/h Bodewes of Millingen ordered.
