The Austrian, British and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 16 April 1841

According to Trieste dated 2 April were the events on Samos and Candia not as horrible as first thought. To restore the peace at Samos was the arrival of some warships probably enough which arrived at Tschesme to embark troops and to sail from there to Samos. The Austrian brig Lipsia pursued some pirates from Samos. According to letters from Canea dated 5 March was the arrival of 3 warships at Suda helpful by restoring the peace over there. According to a letter dated 22 March were 8 Turkish warships with 2.500 men regular troops on board, 1 British ship of the line, 1 frigate and 1 brig in the harbour and were another 3 British ships expected from Marmarizza just like the Austrian squadron commanded by Bandiera.
