Master G.A. Klemp who recently arrived at Flushing with the merchant ship Matilda coming from Buenos Aires and destined for Antwerp reported that he met the Dutch Zr.Ms. corvette Comeet (1) 11 February 11˚12” South and 30˚36” West while she was crossing of the Canary and Cape Verde Islands to protect the Dutch interests. The Comeet commanded by captain lieutenant Koopman was destined towards the Dutch East Indies and everything was well on board.
