Part of the Deutschland-class consisting of the Deutschland, Hannover, Pommern, Schlesien and Svhleswig-Holstein, preceded by the Braunschweig-class and succeeded by the Nassau-class.Laid down at the Germaniawerf, Kiel, Germany on 20 June 1903, launched on 19 November 1904 a year later, commissioned on 3 August 1906, decommissioned in 10 September 1917 becoming an unarmed barracks ship at Wilhelmshaven stricken on 25 January 1920 was she sold to be broken up which was completed in 1922. With a displacement of 13.200 (normal)-14.281 (full load) were her dimensions 127,6 x 22,2 x 7,7 metres or 491’x 73 x 25’The engines provided 19.330 shp allowing a speed of 17 knots and with a speed of 10 knots a range of 5.000 nautical miles. Her crew numbered 743 men. The armour consisted of a 23cm thick belt, a 7,6cm thick deck and the turrets protected by 28cm. She was armed with 2x2-28cm/11” SK L/40 guns in turrets and further more casemated 14-17cm/6.7”SK L/40 guns and 22-8,8cm/3.5” SK L/40 guns and also 6-45cm/18” submerged torpedo tubes.
